Ahmedabad: The GST department of the state has been keeping an eye on non -accounting transactions for some time and action is being taken against all elements that are especially damaged by such non -accounting transactions and damaging the state treasury. The State GST department has seized non -accounting trafficking in the pan spice. An estimated 42.12 lakh unaccounted pouches of pan spice and tobacco have been found. Investigation is also being launched in the direction of how these non -accounting business is underway.

According to information obtained from the State State GST department, on February 4, it was noticed that the goods were being smuggled into sensitive items without invoice, defective invoice or proper documents. The GST department was also noticed that crores of rupees were being taxed through such unaccounted trafficking, which led to 6 vehicles from carrying Pan Masala and tobacco pouches in Ahmedabad district as part of the tax evasion.

A total of 42.12 lakh unaccounted pouches of Pan Masala and tobacco were found on the basis of specific information. Of which Rs. 2.55 crore GST is estimated to be theft. Immediately the GST department has initiated action in this regard and has initiated action against all traders selling unaccounted goods.

Importantly, this GST process has also gone underground, especially the traders of Pan Masala. The GST department is also examining how the non -accounting network of pan spice pouches is also operated. Which traders are involved in such tax evasion. In the coming days, different teams of GST have been working to stop and catch unaccounted trafficking if there is this kind of tax evasion from more pan spice traders. Apart from Ahmedabad district, the GST department can investigate the non -accounting transactions of traders in Saurashtra areas including Rajkot, Bhavnagar, Amreli, Jamnagar as well as in South Gujarat. GST department officials have also been active in preventing the sale of goods without bills and demolishing the active network to prevent tax evasion.
