Team India, led by Rohit Sharma, have defeated Australia in the semifinal match of the Champions Trophy and made their place in the final. The first semifinal match was played between India and Australia in Dubai, in which Team India won by 4 wickets.
Upon reaching the Champions Trophy 2025 final, a historic achievement in the name of Captain Rohit Sharma has been added. From former Team India captain MS Dhoni to Virat Kohli, no one has achieved this achievement.
The first captain to reach the final of all four ICC tournament
Team India has once again reached the ICC tournament final in the captaincy of Rohit Sharma. In the year 2024, Team India reached the T20 World Cup final and won the title, before, in Rohit’s captaincy, Team India also reached the final of the 2023 ODI World Cup, but after reaching the final, Team India suffered a defeat at Australia. After defeating Australia in the Champions Trophy semifinals, the Indian team has made it to the final under Rohit Sharma’s captaincy.
Rohit Sharma has now become the first Indian captain to reach the final of all four ICC tournament. Prior to this, Team India never reached the final of the ICC tournament in the captaincy of MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli.

Team India reached the final
Team India defeated Australia by 4 wickets and made it to the final. In the semifinal match, captain Rohit Sharma gave the team a good start, but he could not play long innings. Rohit scored 28 in this match. Apart from this, Virat Kohli scored 84, Shreyas Iyer 45 and KL Rahul 42. Mohammad Shami took the highest 3 wickets in the bowling.
