The second Test match will be played in Birmingham between India and England. One day before this, a suspected package was found near the Team India hotel, which caused the uproar.
The police came into action and the area was surrounded, after the Indian team was found to have found a suspected package in Sentrene Square near the hotel where it was staying.
Players allow not to get out
Following the incident, security agencies advised Indian players not to go out of the hotel precaution. A BCCI source said that Birmingham City Center police informed the social media that a suspicious item was found in the area, after which the players were stopped for security reasons. It was said that Indian players often go to Broad Street near the hotel, but after this warning, everyone was asked to stay in the hotel.
Police removed security after 1 hour
Police posted on the X: ‘We have surrounded the area around the Centenary Square at the center of Birmingham city and are investigating a suspected package. We got information about it just before 3pm. Caution, many buildings have been evacuated while it was under investigation. Please avoid going to that area. But within an hour after the investigation, the police declared the situation normal and security was siege.
Players took part in the net session
Before the second Test, eight players, including captain Shubhman Gill, performed a net session, while 10 players rested. Team India Kalathi will play the second Test against England. England announced its playing eleven just two days before the match. No changes have been made to the English team.
