The Government of Gujarat has increased the income limit of the parents of the students seeking admission under the Right to Education (RTE) law. Earlier, the income limit for RTE admission was Rs 1.20 lakh in the countryside and Rs 1.50 lakh in the urban area. Some people are welcoming the increase in income limit, the government has increased the rush of guardians to enroll school under RTE, raising income limit by the government. Double forms have been filled in 15 days and the figure is likely to rise in the next 15 days.
Ahmedabad: The online process of filling the form for admission under RTE is underway and the admission process is going to run online till April 15. But surprisingly, the influx of guardians for admission up to Rs 6 lakh by the government for admission under RTE has increased. Because the double form is filled in 15 days under RTE and the figure is still likely to rise in the next 15 days.
Under the Right to Education Act (RTE), the process of giving children of the weak and disadvantaged group free of cost to the academic year 2025 into standard 1 is being done by the Primary Education Department of the state. The first round of admission is being allotted for an estimated 90 thousand seats in the state. However, within a few days after the admission process began, the income limit for admission to RTE was made by the government 6 lakh. The whole process was started. Because of the previously 1 lakh 50 thousand for urban area for entry into RTE, it was 1 lakh 20 thousand for the rural.
But the rush has increased for RTE admission up to 6 lakh income limit. In just 15 days, 31 thousand forms have been filled for admission in primary standard 1 in Ahmedabad. Against this, Ahmedabad private schools have only 14 thousand 600 seats in standard 1. That is, in just 15 days, double forms have been filled. And when the admission process is still scheduled to run till April 15, there are still many parents who have to withdraw the income example for parents with 6 lakh or less income or the work is in the process.
According to officials of the Education Department of Ahmedabad district, the time limit for filling the form was raised as well as the income limit for admission to RTE, so the time limit for filling up the form was extended, so the time till April 15 is the guardians. The form which will be filled will be tested and scrutiny will also be done. And then the admission process will be done as a rule.
