Secretary Brooke Rolins said on Friday that the US Agriculture Department canceled a grant of 000 600,000 for menstrual cycle studies in transgender men.

Southern University Agricultural and Mechanical Callege Lage was a grant recipient in Louisiana, according to the database of USASP&A.GOV.

“The first occurrence of menstruation occurs at the age of 12 and ends with menopause at the age of 51,” the description of the grant is written. “A woman has a menstrual cycle for about 40 years of her life, with an average of about 450 periods during her lifetime.”

“It is also important to identify that transgender men and masculine gender identity, intersex and non-drug can also menstruation,” adds the description. “About 26% of the world’s population is menstruation at any moment.”

This study tries to “overcome” growing concerns related to menstruation, which includes the potential use of natural fibers, such as hemp, in female hygiene products.
