Ahmedabad: Police arrest accused of robbery and murder for 25 years

The Ahmedabad Crime Branch has arrested the accused on the basis of intelligence, in which the Ahmedabad city police are being arrested by the Ahmedabad city police for the old crime. The arrested accused on January 27, 2001 looted Rs 25,000 from Bakar Ali, a factory watchman Dugal Textile in Danilimda area.

The accused has been absconding for the last 25 years. Other accused were also involved in the crime with the arrested accused, though the accused was absconding for a long time. After the crime, the accused was fleeing in different states. His family also expelled him as he committed several crimes. Since he knew different activities, including running Holi near the dam, the place where the dam was operating, was working and living. It was difficult to arrest the accused’s entire name in the crime committed in Danilimada, but the police have finally arrested him on the basis of specific information.

It is worth mentioning that the arrested accused Ramu Verma was arrested in 1998 for crimes like a textile theft and ransom, kidnapping in Uttar Pradesh and four years in jail. A total of 18 offenses including weapons, murder attempt, robbery, ransom, theft have been registered against him in Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh. At present, the Crime Branch has arrested the accused and investigated the other accused involved in the crime.
