According to the Cleveland Clinic, stem cell transplants can sometimes treat or reverse blood disorders, cancer and some autoimmune diseases. In this, the unhealthy cells in the patient’s body are replaced with healthy cells. Sometimes, a donor is also involved. This procedure is done when the disease becomes fatal and no other treatment options work.
