Air transit is joining its Canadian counterparts to finish free carry-on bags on some of its cheap flight options.

By Tuesday, the Montreal -based airline said that only one personal item, such as a handbag or a small backpack, would be allowed to customers using the eco -budget rental package. Any other luggage must be checked according to the standard fee in effect.

Air transit customers flying with eco-standard rental will now be allowed only one carry-on bag and an individual item. The checked luggage will now be subjected to the applicable checked luggage.

The airline told Global News that these changes would affect its flights to domestic flights in the south, United States and Canada. Flights of Europe, Morocco and Peru, as well as transit all-inklooked packages, are not affected by changes.

“These adjustments enable us to provide more competitive rental and to better configure with industry methods, ensuring that we continue to experience accessible travel than meet market expectations.”

Last year, Air Canada and Westjett announced similar measures.

In May, Westjet CEO Alexis von Honsbroch announced a new cheap rental category that will be available to passengers ready to fly without a carry-on bag. Travelers who buy cheap rental will not have the option of placing a bag in an overhead compartment, though they will be allowed to store a naps ack, purse or small personal item below the seat in front of them.

Officials of those companies were in a warm meeting on those changes last month, facing the issues of Ottawa MPs. They said that Ottawa needs to improve the aviation system of this country if she wants to be cheaper for travel.
