Now is the time that I say goodbye to my most favorite format, international Test cricket. For the last 17 years, playing cricket for Sri Lanka has been the biggest honor and pride for me. Nothing can defeat the patriotism and service that is experienced while wearing a national jersey. I am grateful to thousands of cricket fans of sports and Sri Lanka who stood with me in every ups and downs of my career. He further said that I thank the Almighty God, my loving parents, my beautiful wife and wonderful children as well as my family and close friends who have always believed in me, supported me and standing with me in every situation. One chapter is over, but his love for the game will last forever. The first Test against Bangladesh in June will be my last red-ball match for my country.
