Badar Khan, a resident of India, is a researcher at Georgetown University in the United States. He was arrested on Monday (March 17). He was abducted from his house on charges of spreading Hamas. Suri’s lawyer demanded his exemption

Eastern District of Virginia Court Judge Patricia Toliver Gills on Thursday evening ordered that Badar Khan Suri would not be deported from the US till the order was issued against the court.

Suri’s lawyer demanded his liberation. He condemned the arrest and considered it an attempt to suppress or limit people’s voice. The lawyer also argued in the court filing that neither state secretary Marco Rubio nor any other government official alleged that Suri had committed a crime or actually broke a law.

Accusation of spreading Jewish opponent on social media

The Homeland Security Department has accused Badar Khan Suri of having a relationship with the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas and has said that it has propagated Hamas on social media and spreading anti -Jewish. According to DHS, on March 15, state secretary Marco Rubio said that Suri could be deported for these activities.

Indian student living in America on Student Visa

Surti Student lives in the United States on a visa and is married to an American citizen. According to his lawyer, he has been detained in Alexandria, Louisiana. His lawyer said he was waiting for the court date in the immigration court.

Hamas accused of spreading propaganda

Bashar Khan Suri was arrested from his home in Arlington, Virginia. The Department of Homeland Security spokesman Trisea McLoflin wrote on Twitter that Suri was a foreign exchange student at the University of Georgetown who was actively promoting Hamas and promoting Jewish opponents on social media. McLoflin accused him of having close ties with a suspected terrorist who is a senior adviser to Hamas. He also said that the state department has decided that the researcher can now be deported under the provision of immigration law.
