Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been awarded the prestigious ‘Honorary Order of Freedom’ of Barbados for his leadership during the Kovid-19 epidemic. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been awarded a prestigious Honorary Order of Freedom of Barbados Award in the recognition of his strategic leadership and valuable assistance during the Kovid-19 epidemic. The Foreign Ministry (MEA) said in a statement on Thursday that at a ceremony organized in Brijtown in Barbados, Minister of State for Foreign and Textile Holy Margarita received the award on behalf of Prime Minister Modi.

On behalf of the Foreign Ministry, it was said that the award is a symbol of permanent friendship between both India and Barbados. The award was announced by Prime Minister Mia Amor Motley, Prime Minister of Barbados during his interview with Prime Minister Modi during the second India-Caricom Leaders Summit in Guyana, Guyana on November 20, 2024. The statement said that since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1966, India and Barbados have promoted strong partnerships characterized by continuous connection and development initiatives.
