The Pacific Western Athletic Association (Pacwest) remains tight on its three -month -long investigation into allegations of harassment and discrimination by transgender athletes at Venkover Island University.
Now that the investigation is complete, Abbotsford’s Columbia Bible College (CBC) is no longer the host of the 2025 basketb.
In a statement, the University of Vancouver Island “thanked Pacwest for its hard work and commitment to maintain its standards, and we are grateful to all those who support the process.”
An investigation was launched by an incident last year.
Harvet McKenzie was playing in a two -day week basketb .l tournament at the end of October Chatber.
Venkover Island University (VIU) was playing the Columbia Bible Callge Lege on October 26, while in the third quarter, McKenzy was caught and thrown to the ground.
McKenzy has also alleged that Colombia’s main coach cornered one of the VU athletic staff after the 25 October game and said that Mackenzi should not be allowed to play.
“Unfortunately, situations like this are nothing new to me,” McKenzy said in a video posted on Instagram after games. “During my whole game career, I have gone out by everyone from players to coaches.”
McKenzie is a transgender athletes who play for Wenkover Island University Marine.
She went on social media after the incident, telling her story.

McCenzy said in her video, “They do not care that I started my transition in kindergarten, never made a male adolescent.”

During the investigation, the VU refused to play a pair of regular season games against the CBC in January.

In a statement issued on Monday, VU said the school was satisfied with the results of the Pacwest investigation.
“The decision strengthens the importance of supporting the principles of collegiate athletics, equity, and the principles of inclusion,” the statement said.
“We are happy with the results of the investigation, which reflects the values ​​we support at the University of Vancouver Island.”
Colombia Bible College Lege, meanwhile, says that it is “Deeply Disappointed” with the decision of the association.
“We do not believe that the right process was followed or the results were appropriate. As a result, we are taking steps to review the Packwest decision, “the college said in a statement.
“We will not comment more at this time.”
Pacwest released a short statement on February 4, stating that the investigation was officially expired and both schools have been decided.
It is not clear where the provincial people will be held this year.
