The University of California, Davis, has announced a plan to convert to the “Universal” All-Sex Locker room in its men and women’s locker rooms in its entertainment centers. The decision has created anger from women’s rights activists.

The university announced the renovation project in February, and claimed that it was “removing the old locker room format for the purpose of inclusion.

The university said in its announcement, “We value the inclusive, accessible environment that can accommodate the various needs of our community. We are delighted to announce that we will recreate the current locker room facilities for the implementation of the universal locker room.”

“All campus entertainment members can use our universal locker room, regardless of who they are or how they identify. These spaces include disabled members and all gender identity members.”

The university is expected to spend 5 million Million on innovation, and students will have to clear all their luggage from the current locker room by Wednesday. The refurbished locker room will not reopen until September.

The university’s announcement states that all toilets, changing rooms and cabins are private spaces with personal, floor-to-ceiling King King doors, and claim to “provide more privacy for all members” compared to the current format.
