Canadian business advocacy groups are calling on government action following the promise of American tariffs on Canadian steel and aluminum.
US President Donald Trump has signed an executive order to recover 25 percent tariffs on steel and aluminum imports in their country since March 12.
Candas Ling, president and CEO of the Canadian Chamber Commerce for Commerce, said in a statement that the step was “wrong at many levels.”
Toronto Region Board Trade Fee Trade President and CEO Gils Gerson echoed a similar spirit, who said that a statement should take immediate action “Our economy and Canada’s economic sovereignty should be shores.”
