Director Ayan Mukherjee organized a prayer meeting for the late father Deb Mukherjee. He held a Prayer Meet at the Film College in Andheri, Mumbai. Many stars of the industry attended the occasion. Actors Vicky Kaushal, Aditya Roy Kapoor, Anupam Kher and Ranbir Kapoor reached the studio to pay tribute to the late actor.
During this time there was a competition in Paparai to take photos of celebs. On this, Ayan requested Paparai to take care of privacy. Ayan said- ‘It will be very commercial inside, but it is a Prayer Meet. It is a little personal for us. If you feel that you are not getting good shots, I am sorry. The same is fine for us today. If the photographers come, then there will be a voice, and there is no place there, please understand for today. ‘
Let us know that on the day of Holi i.e. March 14, Ayan Mukherjee’s father and Veteran actor Deb Mukherjee died at the age of 83. He was suffering from age related diseases.
He was cremated at Pawan Hans crematorium in Juhu, Mumbai. Many more celebs including Kajol, Tanuja, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Hrithik Roshan, Karan Johar were present at the funeral. Ranbir Kapoor also gave a shoulder to Deb Mukherjee.

Deb Mukherjee was born in 1941 in Kanpur. He belonged to the film family from the beginning. His mother was the only sister of Satidevi, Ashok Kumar, Anoop Kumar and Kishore Kumar. Deb Mukherjee’s brother Joy Mukherjee was actor and Shomu Mukherjee was a filmmaker. Shomu Mukherjee married Bollywood actress Tanuja. Deb Mukherjee’s niece is Kajol and Rani Mukherjee. Deb Mukherjee married twice. His daughter Sunita is married to director Ashutosh Gowariker from his first marriage. Ayan is his son from his second wife.
