Team India has finally announced their squad for the Champions Trophy starting next month in Pakistan. There is more than one name involved in this team. Apart from fast bowler Mohammad Siraj’s exit from the team, there has not been much change in the team. India can also make changes in this team if they want. This can happen when a player gets injured. Let’s take a look at the three players who could make the squad if that happens.
Abhishek Sharma
The bat of this young batsman from Punjab is making a noise right now. Playing for Punjab in the recently played Vijay Hazare Trophy, he spoiled the condition of the bowlers. He scored 467 runs at a strike rate of 130.44 in the tournament, with his Best innings being 170 runs. Yashshwi Jaiswal may already be in the Champions Trophy squad, but Abhishek Sharma’s claim cannot be ignored either.
Harshit Rana
India’s leading fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah’s fitness is still a matter of concern. It has come to light that Bumrah is not fully fit for the Champions Trophy right now. Many believe that if Bumrah misses a few matches due to injury, Harshit Rana, who impressed everyone on his debut in Australia, could be a better replacement. Although he did not perform well in the pink ball Test, everyone is aware of his ability with the new ball.
Nitish Reddy
Nitish Reddy, who had a strong performance with the bat in Australia, may return to the team as a backup to star all-rounder Hardik Pandya. His claim seems strong given the way he played during the recent Australian tour. His inclusion in the squad for the Champions Trophy 2025 could benefit India immensely and if Hardik gets injured, Nitish can step in.
India’s 15-member squad for the Champions Trophy
