There are only a few hours left to start the Champions Trophy 2025. The ICC tournament will begin on February 19 with the Pakistan-New Zealand match. A total of eight teams are participating in the Champions Trophy and these teams have been divided into two groups.

Group A has India, Pakistan, New Zealand and Bangladesh. Group B includes England, Australia, South Africa and Afghanistan. In his group, 2 teams of top will qualify for the semifinals. But the question is, if the points of both teams in the top-2 are the same, which team will be number 1 and what if the points of the three teams are the same? How will the next way be discovered if the semifinal match is canceled or ended in a tie?

Who will reach the semifinal if there are the same points?

All the teams of both groups will play one match with their group teams at the group stage. All teams will get two points for winning one match at the group stage. If the match is tied, both teams will get one point each. The team that wins the most will be at the top of his group. If the team’s points are the same in the group and the win is the same, the decision will be taken on their net run rate. Suppose the points of two or more teams are still the same, they will be placed in their group based on the results of the matches played between them.

What if the semifinal match is tied or canceled?

Group A’s No. 1 team will clash against Group B No. 2 team in the semifinals. The second semifinal will be played between Group B No. 1 team and Group A No. 2 team. If the semifinal match is tied, its decision will be taken by Super Over. But if the super over is not possible and the match is canceled for rain or other reasons, the team at the top of the group will qualify for the final. The finals may be held in Dubai or Lahore on March 9. March 10 is held as Reserve Day.
