The defensive shell covered the Chernobil Nuclear Plant Plant Plant in Ukraine on Friday struck the protective shell on an alleged drone and Ukrainian president Woldimar Zelensky pointed a finger in Russia.

Zelensky added, “Chernobil NPP shelter was damaged by this drone. The fire has been extinguished. Until now, the radiation level has not increased and is being constantly monitored,” Zelensky added. “According to the initial assessments, the damage to the shelter is significant.”

While the incident is currently under investigation, Zelensky claimed that the alleged attack was the result of a terrorist threat.

The IAEA said its fire safety personnel were able to respond in minutes and there was no indication of a breach of NSC’s internal control.

The agency has also reported that no casualties have been reported at present, but inspection within and outside the situation and radiation level remains normal and stable.
