When the Champions Trophy 2025 tournament was not started, there was a conflict between India and Pakistan. Eventually, a hybrid model was adopted for Team India, which led to its matches in Dubai.

According to the schedule, the Champions Trophy was to be played in the 2025 final in Lahore, but since India reached the final, the site of the final has been changed from Lahore to Dubai. This change could cause a major loss to the Pakistan Cricket Board.

Crores of loss to India, Pakistan in the final

According to the media report, the ICC approved a total budget of Rs 586 crore for the Champions Trophy 2025 tournament. A total of 15 matches were to be played in the tournament and a budget of around Rs 39 crore was kept for each match. So far, four matches, including the semifinals of India, have been played in Dubai, while according to the original schedule, these four matches were to be played in Pakistan. Due to the four matches of the Indian team, the PCB has suffered a loss of Rs 156 crore so far. As India has reached the final, it will be played in Dubai. Due to this, the total loss of Pakistan is to reach Rs 195 crore.

Pakistan faced frustration

Earlier, the field was renovated in Pakistan. Earlier, it was planned to spend Rs 500 crore for renovation of the plains of Rawalpindi, Karachi and Lahore. The PCB hoped that after the construction was completed, the field would be filled with viewers, but less than expected people came to see the match. Pakistan was out on the group stage and two matches were washed away due to rain, which further worsened the situation. The PCB also had to return the tickets for the canceled matches without a toss in the Rawalpindi field.
