After retiring from Australian captain Steve Smith’s ODI format, another player has now said goodbye to the format. Mushfiqur Rahim, an experienced Bangladesh player who has been badly out of the 2025 Champions Trophy, has now announced his retirement from the ODI format. Mushfiqur Rahim was also part of the Bangladesh team in the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy.

Mushfiqur Rahim wrote on social media that I am announcing retirement from ODI format today. Alhamdulillah for everything. Even though our achievements are limited globally, one thing is certain. Whenever I landed for my country, I gave more than 100% with dedication and honesty.

The last few weeks have been very challenging for me and I have realized that this is my destiny. Allah says in the Quran that he respects the one he wants and humiliates what he wants. Almighty Allah forgives us and gives good faith to all. In the end, I thank my family, friends and my fans for whom I have been playing cricket for the last 19 years.

This is the career of Mushfiqur Rahim

Mushfiqur Rahim made his ODI debut against Zimbabwe on August 6, 2006. He played 274 ODI in his career. During this period, he scored an average of 36.42 in 256 innings and 7795 runs at a strike rate of 79.70. During this period, Rahim scored 49 half -centuries and 9 centuries. His Best score in ODIs is 5 runs. In his ODI career, wicketkeeper Rahim made 243 catches and 56 stumping.

Bangladesh’s performance in the current Champions Trophy 2025 was not very good and the team was excluded from the group stage. Bangladesh faced India in his first match. India won the match by 6 wickets. Mushfiqur Rahim was out on the Golden Duck in the match. In the second match against New Zealand, Mushfiqur Rahim’s bat could not do well and scored only 2 runs. The match between Pakistan and Bangladesh was washed away due to rain.
