Five children have been killed when the dam collapsed in East Zimbabwe and rescuers are looking for two more missing children. The Disaster Management Agency of the country has reported the tragedy. Such a situation has been created due to continuous rainfall in recent weeks. The tragedy took place in a distant district chipping located in the eastern part of the country. The number of the dead in the accident may increase.
Rescue operations are ongoing
The authorities initially said that a four -year -old girl, who was washing clothes with her mother and died of a 30 -year -old man. The baby’s mother survived. However, after some children were missing in the area, search and rescue operations were launched, resulting in the bodies of four more children this week.
Appeal to people to stay in a safe place
The Civil Protection Unit, the Disaster Management Agency of the South African country, said two more children between the ages of 8 and 4 are still being searched, who are still missing. Currently, people have been advised to avoid water flow areas.
