The presence of 2 police personnel will now be mandatory during the tour in the schools of Gujarat. Special orders have been issued by the state DGP on this issue. This important decision has been taken on the safety of children. In which each principal has been ordered to report the entire planning from e-mail.
Ahmedabad: Two uniformed policemen will now be present in the tours, picnics and Bharat Darshan programs organized by primary, secondary and higher secondary schools in Gujarat. Gujarat Police Director and Chief Police Officer Vikas Aid has given immediate order to all the schools in the state. The order has been implemented as the implementation of the suggestion rank 06 given at the Chief Minister’s DGP-GP Conference.
According to this order, each Principals will have to ensure the presence of two policemen during the tour by contacting the nearest police station before conducting a tour. The presence of women policemen, especially for women’s participating tours, will also be mandatory. Principals have also been ordered to prepare a detailed report on this entire planning and send it to adapprm@gujarat.gov.in e-mail.
The main purpose of this step is the safety of children. The accidents and accidents caused during students’ tours over the past few years have worried the education department and the police system. Especially due to the painful experience of the Harni Boat scandal in Harni Lake in Vadodara city, the safety of education tours became more concerned. Many children had a chance to lose their lives due to lack of security in this scandal. Now the state government has implemented this new system to prevent such accidents.
School tours are constantly being held in many districts of Gujarat. Teachers often visit the city’s museums, historical sites, rivers-ponds, scientific centers and religious places to inform students of four walls of the school. But so far there were no special instructions on the scheduled security of the tours. Now every Principals will be more alert after the order of the mandatory presence of two policemen.
The state police chief development aid has explained to Principals that the coordination of the police department will make the tour more secure. “Schools will have to get sufficient police assistance according to the size of the children. In particular, it is imperative for Principals to be instructed with the female policeman for tours of women students,” they said.
It is worth mentioning that one of the 108 suggestions taken at the DGP-GP conference chaired by Prime Minister Modi. According to the government, a positive role of the police is inevitable to protect the students’ tours. Along with this, the attempt to increase police-district contact is underlying. The police department will help Principals to increase the confidence of students and teachers.
