Florida boat capsies, leaving 1 dead; Coast Guard 3 is looking for others

The Coast Guard on Saturday said that after the boat was set up on the St. Jones River in Jacksonville, Florida near Got Island, he was looking for three passengers, including adults and two children, in which one man was killed.

Around 7pm on Friday, Coast Guard Sector Jacksonville received an 18 -foot ship warning, with four people trapped on a plotted boat and four others.

Four people on top of the boat were rescued. The Coast Guard said none of the passengers wore life jackets.

Coast Guard helped the rescue boat and helicopter crew and Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Fis, Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department and Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.

The agency said in a news release on Saturday that four people at the top of the ship were rescued by Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office of the Fiss Marine Unit, and one person was found in response. “Coast Guard Station Meport Rescue Surface Swimmer tried to contact the people below the vessel but did not receive any reaction.

“At this time, we have found one of the missing people, and they have died,” Jacksonville told reporters late Friday. “It’s a really unfortunate situation, and our hearts go to all family members.”

Officials did not disclose the age of the person who died.

The cause of capsising is under investigation.
