Former Liberal MP Hen Dong will not ask for a re -election, when he says the party told him that he would run another candidate.

Dong, an independent member of Don Valley North, says they are “disappointed” that he will not run in the next contest, but said he did not want to safely divide the vote in a liberal ride to give the party the Best shots to win.

On March 22, 2023, Dong went away from the generous KC Kas, after Global News, quoting anonymous national security sources, publishing alleged details about their interaction with the Chinese consulate in Toronto. Dong discussed with his party about returning to Caucus from June 2023.

“Many of you know that I had no choice but to leave Liberal Cocks about two years ago to try my name in response to the false allegations published about me,” Dong said in a statement published on social media.

Dong is now claiming Global’s parent company, Chorus Entertainment and has repeatedly denied any malpractices.

Citing two national security sources, Global reported that in February 2021, Dong discussed the detention of Michael Spaver and Michael Kovarg with China’s Consul General Han Tao in Toronto, without the first notifying the government. The report includes allegations that indicate that during the phone Call, Dong privately advised the diplomat that two michacas detained by Beijing on the basis of national security will benefit the SERV sciences at that time.

Dong has repeatedly said that he always advocates the introduction of both Michael.

Summary of the Call Low, presented for the latest public investigation by Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSI), suggested that after publishing ‘Two Michaels’ at that moment, the opposition parties will see the PrC’s hard -facing the Effectiveness of the PrC.

The CSIS Intelligence Summary, which the agency described as “imperfect”, also alleged that any transparency given in relation to the “two micills”, such as “two micills” or the date of the court, would help the Canadian people to be plaque and opposed to the opponent.

When asked about Call L Judge Mary-Joshi Hogg’s inquiry, Dong said it “is possible” he discussed two Michael, but he “does not remember the conversation.” Dong added that “whenever (he) talked about ‘two Michaels’ … (he) has always advocated his early release, as well as,” improving his situation “.

Hogg said in his report that she could not say that CSIS’s public summary “reflects accurately and correctly” Dong’s conversation, which took place in Mandarin. Nevertheless, she said that classified information represents her “Mr. Dong denied the allegation. She suggested that the PRC should stop releasing both Michael.”

Under political pressure, the then Minister Justin Trudeau appointed former Governor General David Johnston as a “special rapper” on foreign interference. Johnston, who did not interview Dong for his report, said in May 2023 that it was “wrong” that Dong suggested that both Michaels were detained.

After Johnston’s report, Trudeau suggested that he was on the dong if he wanted to re -join the Liberal Rank.

“I wait for Han to communicate with Han, whether he wants to come back, and his fight to clear his name is going on,” Trudeau told reporters at the Winnipeg Press Conference.

In July 2023, Minister of Dominic Leblenk, who was then intervened, told reporters that he was “going through the process” at Trudeau’s request to talk to Dong about rejoicing in Liberal Cocks.

However, Dong never regained his seat on a generous bench.

In June 2024, the lawyers of the Chorus Entertainment tried to throw away the dong’s lawsuit under the Act, preventing the “strategic lawsuit” to limit the free expression. The judge of the Superior Court of NT Natario rejected the petition, saying that the case was in public interest in hearing.

“It is my privilege to serve the residents of (Don Valley North) and serve the gentle experience of working and learning with many energetic leaders, community organizations and public institutions,” said Dong’s statement.

A notice on the Liberal Party’s website indicated that Maggie Chi, who had previously fled from the Toronto City Council and was a nominee of the NT Natario Liberal Party, would be the Federal Party candidate in the April 28 election.
