The ice fishing campaign in BC’s Fraser Valley was fatal on Tuesday, says RCMP.
It happened on Grace Lake, west of Harrison Lake.
M Oun Natiz said that when two men on the way to ice fishing failed to return to the plan, a family member went to the lake where they saw a large hole in the nearby snow and fishing gear.
Eggasies RCMP and multiple search and rescue teams deployed in the lake and located two bodies under the ice.

“We bring a heartfelt sensation to the families and friends of the deceased during this difficult time,” Augasiz RCMP spokesman CPL. Chad Raymond said in a media release.

The police had to call the RCMP Underwater Recovery Team, a specialist team of specialist divers, to receive a difficult and dangerous recovery.
Criminality is not considered to be a factor in men’s deaths, and Mountains BC Coroners are working with service that is investigating casualties.
