German brand Hugo Boss launched Novapoli, a derogatory recycling yarn

Hugo Boss unveiled Novapoli-an innovative recycled polyester yarn was co-developed with the company’s suppliers Zieren Chemical Recycling and NBC LLC. Using trademarks and exclusive for the first year, Hugo Boss aims to set new industry standards and plans to license Novapoli in the future fashion sector. As part of the company’s boss The Change Initiative, the first boss green products characterized by Novapoli will be launched globally in October 2025.

While currently available for the brand boss and hugo, the company is actively working towards a licensing model, working to make the new fiber accessible to a wide range of industry partners. The Novapoli is made of garbage produced during the production of clothing as well as during the later phase of the consumer. It is extended with a natural attachment that mimics the natural behavior of fiber in the environment, making it derogatory. This innovation supports the strategic goals of Hugo Boss to fight microplastic – a major pillar of the company’s stability strategy. Novapoli complemented the existing efforts in developing Hugo Boss’s polyester and polyamide fiber options, as the company had earlier shared in partnership with Ayonic.

Novapoli products will begin on October 2025 globally in boss stores and selected wholesale retail partners. As part of the spring/summer 2026 collection for the boss Green, the yarn will be integrated into the selected performance pieces.
