Toronto-Endess Gimnez hit his third home race in five games, and Boden Francis gave two hits in six innings as Toronto Blue Jess defeated V-Shington National on Monday 5-2.
After his homer, Gimnez was gone, hit the pitch, recorded the basis of his 100th career theft and doubled.
Francis (1-0) took a no-hitter in the sixth innings before giving CJ Abrams and James Woods a back-to-back solo home run, with Toronto’s lead cut 4-2. He walked four out and walked three in six innings (91 pitches).
Canadian Michael Soroka (0-1) went five innings for citizens (1-3), in the sixth place, after his third pitch felt something wrong. He left four runs with one walk and three strikouts in an 83-pitch outing.
