The five -match Test series is set to begin between India and England from June 20. The series was previously known as the “Pataudi Trophy”, but it will now be renamed.
But the England and Wales Cricket Board have decided to rename the trophy. The ECB wrote a letter to the Pataudi family in March that they now wanted to retire the trophy.
The name of the series will be changed
Now this historic series has been named a new name ‘Tendulkar-Anderson Trophy’. The name is named Sachin Tendulkar and England fast bowler James Anderson in honor of the cricket world. This decision is considered a special gift for cricket lovers.
Sachin Tendulkar performed brilliantly in his cricket career and won the hearts of millions of fans around the world. He has made many records in both ODIs and Test formats. While James Anderson has made a different identity among the fast bowler in Test cricket. He is the fastest bowler to take the highest wicket in Test cricket and is still playing.
According to media reports, the Test series between India and England will now be known as the Tendulkar-Anderson Trophy. The first match of the series will be played on the grounds of Headingley on June 20. The ECB will announce the new name of this trophy before the series will begin.
