Kamal Haasan is in controversy due to his statement that Kannada language has come out of Tamil.
Controversy is increasing over actor Kamal Haasan’s statement on Kannada language. On Saturday, some organizations went to theaters in Bangalore and appealed not to show Kamal Haasan’s film ‘Thug Life’. At the same time, actor Shiv Rajkumar has reiterated his unwavering commitment to his mother tongue amidst the ongoing controversy over Kamal Haasan’s statement.
Actor Shiv Rajkumar said, “Kannada is my first choice, there is no doubt. All languages are necessary for me, but as a mother tongue, Kannada is my priority. I can also give my life for Kannada. Whenever there is an issue about Karnataka, I am the first to be there.”

Earlier on Friday, Kamal Haasan refused to apologize amid controversy over his comment on Kannada language. He said during the promotion of his film ‘Thug Life’ in Chennai on Friday that if I am not wrong then I will not apologize. Haasan had said, ‘India is a democratic country. I believe in law and justice. My love for Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Kerala is true. Victory is always of love. I have been threatened before, but if I am wrong then I will apologize, if I am wrong then I will not apologize.
Let us know that the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) banned the release of Kamal Haasan’s film ‘Thug Life’. KFCC President M Narasimhlu told the news agency PTI that if Kamal Haasan wants his film to be released, he would have to apologize.
In fact, on May 24, Kamal said during the audio launch of ‘Thug Life’ in Chennai that Kannada language was born from Tamil. Following this statement, pro -Kannada organizations have demanded public apology to hurt the sentiments of the Kannada people.

Police arrested a Kannada language activist in Bengaluru. He burnt posters of Kamal Haasan. Police said Namma Karunada Yuva Sena President Ravikumar Holy had burnt posters of Hassan at Paradise Circle on May 28. A case has been registered against him.

Speaking to the media in Thiruvananthapuram on May 28, he said, ‘What I said in love. Many historians have taught me the history of language. I had no meaning. Politicians are not eligible to talk about language. They do not have the ability to talk about it, I am also involved in it. We should leave discussions on these serious issues to historians, archaeologists and language experts.
BJP said- actor insulted Kannada language Along with the Congress, the BJP also criticized the actor’s statement. In Karnataka, BJP state president Vijayendra Yeddyurappa had said that insulting the language of others is a rude behavior. It is the arrogance of Kamal Haasan that he worked in many languages including Kannada, but he has insulted Kannada language by including actor Shiva Rajkumar in the glorification of Tamil language.
There is a dispute between the Central Government and the Tamil Nadu government over the TRAI Language Policy. Under the New Education Policy 2020, it was recommended that students could learn 3 languages, but no language has been made mandatory. States and schools have the freedom to decide which 3 languages they want to teach. The Tamil Nadu government is opposing Hindi language.

On the 8th Foundation Day of his party Makkal Nidhi Mayyam in Chennai, Haasan said- the language issue should not be taken lightly. The children of Tamil Nadu also know which language they need. They have their own understanding.
