You may have seen the batsmen out on the cricket field. Sometimes the batsman has to return to the pavilion because of the brilliant ball of the bowler, sometimes because of the filler’s excellent effort. But the way Kusal Mendis lost his wicket in the IPL 2025’s Eliminator match cannot be said to be less than suicide.
Kusal Mendis started his innings well and was seen in good form. But the mistake he made after this is rarely seen on the cricket field.
Kusal Mendis was unique out
Gujarat Titans did not have a good start while chasing the target of 229 runs given by Mumbai Indians. Captain Shubhman Gill just scored a run out of Trent Bolt’s ball. Kusal then came to Mendis Crease. Mendis started strong, hit one fours and two sixes.
After scoring 20 off 9 balls, Mendis was seen in good form and Gujarat was in a strong position. But on the second ball of the seventh over, Kusal Mendis made a big mistake. While trying to play a sweep shot on Sentner’s ball, Mendis lost his leg balance and his leg ran on the stumps. Mendis returned to the pavilion with a hit wicket.
