Ahmedabad: With the beginning of the academic session of schools, complaints of books are being raised across the state including Ahmedabad. However, the textbook is claiming to have a sufficient book at the depot. But surprisingly among the parents’ complaints and the claims of the congregation, it is stalled to deliver a book to the students. The textbook board has been forced to shut down WhatsApp service in a single day. It is important to know the reason behind this.
Academic sessions have begun in 54,000 schools across the state and there is a boom in the textbook market with the start of schools. The textbook board announced WhatsApp number to ensure that students get a book sitting at home. Under which the students sitting at home from WhatsApp No. 9227717483 would be able to ask for a textbook. It was also said that the book delivery was not charged. But this WhatsApp number had to be closed in a single day.
“We had announced WhatsApp number,” said the official at the Depot of the Textbook Board. From 6-30am to 7pm, one thousand phone calls were received and more than a thousand WhatsApp messages came. About 92 people were also delivered to the books. But due to so many phone calls and messages in a single day, the WhatsApp number has been closed. The new number will now be announced in a couple of days.
It has also been claimed that there is no shortage of a single book at present and the books of standard 1 to 12 are available. If a book is not in stock, it may take a couple of days to order from Godown but the books are enough and there is no shortage. Officials of the Textbook Board have also found that so far, 16.64 lakhs of standard 1 to 8 and 18.94 lakh books have been allotted in Ahmedabad so far. More than 25 lakhs from standard 1 to 8 and more than 18 lakh books have been allotted across the state and more than 18 lakhs of standard 9 to 12.
