Recently, Dainik Bhaskar Asia Awards of Excellence Season-3 was held in Malaysia. Bollywood diva Malaika Arora became our special guest in this function. Malaika talked about her business journey at the event. He told how the manifestation about business in childhood has come true. Also, he has shared stories related to his hit songs. You have also made your name not only in Entertainment but also in Business World. When Malaika Arora started the venture, what is thinking at that time?
First of all, I feel very good to be a part of Dainik Bhaskar Asia Awards of Excellence Season-3. I am a part of this program, sitting here with you and feel proud. I will thank me for giving me this opportunity. As an actor, when we come on the big screen or walk on the red carpet, everyone is aware. But when we do something behind the camera, people do not know. To tell the truth, I did not know anything about business first. What to do and where to start.
People say that they give the tag of business woman but I do not understand all these terms. Every year I learn something new. In such a situation, I have been a learning experience to my entrepreneurial journey. The brand or venture I am with is close to my heart. Those who know my people know that I am alert about wellness. My ventures are wellness associated. In today‘s life, we all forget wellness. It is my endeavor that I can send this message to the people that yoga, good food and small things can be healthy.
Where did the Idea of Entrepreneurship come from and how did you carry it forward?
Nobody believes but I like to eat a lot. When I was in school, I often used to say that I want to open a restaurant. I want to make my own studio. I did not know that childhood dream would come true one day.
My agency who takes care of me so much, he also pushed me towards Antopronorship. When I felt its worm, then I did not stop. He kept doing new things one after the other. I want to create a wellness empire one day. I will not know whether or not, but manifests can only be done. I believe in the manifestation.
What do you see when someone approaches you for a brand?
For me, the value of the brand, more than a vibe, is what my gut feeling is saying. If I do not know about a brand that it is very important, then I will do it.
Do you have a plan to take your business to global level?
Dainik Bhaskar has become the Asia Awards of Excellence International. I think many people will get inspiration from this. In the recent times, there is talk of India Shine. Go anywhere, people talk about India. It is said that he wants to appear in the Indian platform. I think this is the right time when your presence is shown in the international market. We are all very lucky that we are part of India Rising.
What was challenging during the song Chaiya-Chaiya and what was memorable?
Dance is a passion for me, so I cannot call the difficulties made during that time challenging. Whenever I have done something on the screen, it was for family and friends. Sometimes there was a friend in front and sometimes a member of the family. If I ever sing a song, I feel like let’s do it. There are all my friends in it, who are making films together, then I also become a part of it.
I sang Chiaya-Chhaiya for ‘Dil Se’ soon after finishing college. At the beginning of his career, I got a chance to work with veteran not only with Shah Rukh Khan but also with veteran like Farah Khan, Mani Ratnam Sir, Santosh Shivan, AR Rahman.
I celebrate myself very lucky. Not everyone gets a chance to work with such a big name at the beginning of his career. Yes I like dance very much. We created magic together but it was not just because of me. I cannot take credit for this. That was the result of the magic team work.
You and Salman Khan also created a magic in Munni Badnaam song. What was the experience?
Salman did not even rehearse. He used to do his choreography himself. He used to do something different. He made his step on the set and asked to try it. Everyone said that yes it looks good. Whatever he did, he became an iconic and trading. I was the producer of that film but I consider myself lucky that I also got a chance to perform in that film.
Tell us about the experience of dancing with Mithun Da in Anarkali Disco Chali song?
I am a very big fan of Mithun Da. I still listen to all her films and songs. Recently he came on the finale of my show India Best Dancer. Shooting with him was a great experience. He has his own style and style. When we were dancing together, he was very chill. He told me that oh wow, you are a wonderful dancer. I feel very good to see you. For me it was a fan moment. I loved listening to my praise from them.
Your gym look is very viral. You have set the trend of gym look. Ever thought it would be such a hit?
No, I did not think. Now it is the era of social media, then everyone sees. When I started it, the phone, camera was not so much. Now it happened that someone is recording you 24 hours. Social media has become a new culture. In the present, social media reached inside everyone’s homes. Everyone knows who is wearing what, who is speaking. Who is going where
You have a different connection with Paparaji. Any funny moment with paps, which you would like to share?
Paparaji is very sweet with me. Sometimes they speak funny things. I also get shocked as to what they are saying. But over all they respect. Paparaji has now become a culture. This work is a livelihood for them. They respect us and we are his.
