The state government is striving under the guidance of Health Minister Rishikesh Patel to provide quality treatment to the nursing services and provide quality treatment to patients. There are currently 13,507 nurses in the service of patients in government hospitals in the state.

At present, a total of 61 organizations in the state are running with 1920 seats and a total of 47,170 seats at 997 institutions at private institutions. Which is increased every year.

In the year 2024-25, 500 seats and five new colleges of BSC (N.) were approved to strengthen the services of nursing in the state. The construction of this new college in Morbi, Godhra, Porbandar, Rajpipla and Navsari of Gujarat is currently underway. Various hygiene training is periodically provided by the state government to increase the ability to treat nursing. Which directly benefits patients with quality services.

Considering the contribution of nurses in health services, 12 Men’s International Nurse Day is celebrated every year all over the world.
