Pakistan’s Auditor General has exposed financial irregularities, contracts and illegal appointments of crores of rupees in PCB, including Rs 63.39 million for the food of the policemen engaged during international matches. The report also illegally appointed 3 coaches of the Under-16 age group at Karachi High Performance Center. The coach has been given 5.4 million rupees as a salary.
Officials have been paid more than needed. Apart from this, Rs 9 lakh has been spent every month on the appointment of media director. The report also revealed that an additional payment of Rs 38 lakh has been made as a match fee. Between February and June 2024, the President has been paid Rs 41.7 lakh in the form of utility charges, housing payments and pol. This payment was unauthorized.

In December 2022, PCB chairman Ramiz Raja was removed from the post. The board then got a new chairman in the form of Najam Sethi, who took over from December 2022 to June 2023. Zaka Ashraf was later appointed as the president of the PCB. He took over from June 2023 to 2024. After this, Mohsin Naqvi is serving in this position.
