The Kolkata High Court has given a big blow to the Indian team’s veteran fast bowler Mohammad Shami. The High Court has directed Shami to give his wife Hussein Jahan and daughter Ayaira to Rs four lakh per month.
Mohammad Shami and Hussein Jahan have been separated for a long time. The court’s decision will be implemented seven years ago. Shami will have to pay this amount as a nourishment. He will have to pay Rs 1.5 lakh to his wife and Rs 2.5 lakh per month for his daughter.

The bench of Judge Ajay Kumar Mukherjee directed the Indian cricketer to pay monthly expenses by ordering Hussein Jahan’s petition. The judge said in his order on Tuesday (July 1) that “in my opinion, the applicant would be appropriate to ensure the financial stability of both the number 1 (wife) to pay Rs 1.5 lakh per month and his daughter 2.5 lakh per month.” The court also said that Shami was free to contribute more voluntarily than the amount fixed for his daughter’s education or other expenses.
Seven -year debt on Mohammed Shami
Mohammad Shami and Hussein Jahan were married in 2014. One year after the wedding, a daughter was born in 2015. But the relationship lasted only four years and in 2018 the couple decided to divorce and the matter reached court. The case has been going on in court for seven years, in which the Kolkata High Court has now ruled. The High Court has said that Mohammad Shami will have to pay this four lakh rupees every month for the last seven years.
Mohammad Shami will have to pay his wife Hussein Jahan at a rate of Rs 1.5 lakh monthly for seven years. He will have to pay Rs 2.5 lakh a monthly rate of Rs 2 crore 10 lakh to his daughter Ayra. In this way, Mohammad Shami will have to pay Rs 3 crore 36 lakh for seven years. According to the High Court order, the money will have to be paid for Hussein Jahan and Ayra.
Hussein Jahan filed a petition in the High Court against the district session court order, in which Shami was ordered to pay Rs 50,000 to his wife and Rs 80,000 to his daughter in 2023. He sought a compensation of Rs 7 lakh for himself from the court and Rs 3 lakh per month for his daughter. Hussein Jahan has worked as a model and cheerleader for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) before marrying Shami in 2014. Daughter Ayra was born in 2015.
Merits of domestic violence, dowry harassment
The wife accused Shami of domestic violence and dowry harassment in 2018. The case has been going on in court ever since. Both have not yet been legally separated. He also alleged that Mohammad Shami had stopped paying money to run his family’s expenses. He has also accused Shami of match fixing. After the allegation, the BCCI banned the fast bowler’s central contract. The board later investigated and released Shami from the allegations of match fixing.
