A huge meteorite with twice as much as the Taj Mahal is moving to the earth fast. Its speed is so fast that it cuts thousands of kilometers in just a few hours. If it collides with the earth, it would be horrible to imagine destruction. Thousands of nuclear bombs, earthquakes, fire storms and changed environments are in this meteorite. NASA recently announced a warning of one such asteroid 2025 DA15.
Meteorite
A meteorite, which is twice the size of the Taj Mahal, is going to pass at a speed of thousands of kilometers per hour closer to our earth. NASA has warned that if it is hit, it can cause destruction of hundreds of molecular bombs. NASA recently issued a warning about a large asteroid 2025 DA15 passing near the Earth. The 110 -foot -wide celestial material is about 165 meters wide. Which is doubled than the Taj Mahal. The asteroid will pass close to the earth at 9:24 pm on March 23, 2025. Even though it is going to pass at a safe distance of 6,480,000 kilometers. But its 77 thousand 282 kilometers per hour is an important topic of study for scientists.
How does NASA monitor meteorite?
NASA’s Center for Neer-Earth Object Studies constantly keep an eye on asteroids moving into space. The center works in collaboration with many observations around the world such as Pan-Starrs, Catalina Sky Survey and Neowise. With the help of advanced technology, such as NASA’s Goldstone Radar, scientists can accurately estimate the orbit and motion of asteroids. This tells us whether an asteroid can pose a threat to the earth. If any danger arises, a warning can be issued in a timely manner. However, there are still many asteroids that cannot be found until the earth is very close. Therefore, it is very important to keep an eye on them.
What can this asteroid risk?
According to NASA, asteroid 2025 DA15 is currently not a direct threat to the earth, but it is important to keep an eye on such asteroids. Similarly, another asteroid named 2025 TN17 will pass closely to the earth on March 26, 2025. However, its distance will be 5 million kilometers. It is asteroid of the “Apollo” class. Which means it crosses the earth’s orbit. Scientists constantly keep an eye on them. Because even the slightest change in their way can pose a threat in the future.
