The GST department has raided at 20 different places of Pan Masala and 8 tobacco traders and crores of rupees have been seized during the raid.
Ahmedabad: The State GST department has raided across the state, including Ahmedabad, and investigating proceedings have been taken to the traders involved in the production and sale of Panamsala and tobacco. During the investigation of GST department officials, 5 crore tax evasion has been seized.
On the basis of specific information received by the State GST department, GST officials raided in different cities of the state. On April 2, a special investigation campaign was covered by covering the entire supply chain, covering the Pan Masala and tobacco manufacturing units, godowns, distributors and retail traders in North Gujarat and South Gujarat. The investigation was investigated in a total of 20 places associated with 8 traders at Ahmedabad, Vapi, Valsad, Palanpur, Deesa, Himmatnagar and Satlasana.
During the investigation, many malpractices such as non-accountable sales, non-accountable stock were discovered by cash transactions. These traders are estimated at an estimated Rs. More than five crore tax evasion has been found. It is important that the GST department launched a special investigation campaign on Pan Masala and tobacco traders in Ahmedabad on March 25, 2025. During this operation, 22 places including Maninagar, Kubernagar and Changodar were investigated. During the investigation, many malpractices such as non-accountable sales, non-accountable stock and non-registered dealers were discovered by cash transactions. Registered taxpayers and non -registered dealers have an estimated Rs. 5.68 crore tax evasion was found. Officials of GST department are supplementing all the documents sold to Pan Masala and tobacco manufacturers and traders. The GST department’s leaf spices and tobacco manufacturers and traders have spread to the traders by this raid. Without the bill, traders who do not sell pan spices and tobacco have gone underground.
