Uttara Singh of Indore has illuminated the name of the city and the country. His new film ‘Pinch’ has got a place in the International Nature Competition of Tribeca Film Festival in New York. This is the same film festival in which 14,000 entries came from all over the world, but only 150 films were selected. ‘Pinch’ is one of those selected films.
The trailer of this film was recently launched at the Cannes Film Festival. Now its world premiere will be in New York on 6 June. Even before ‘Pinch’, big Indian films like ‘Adipurush’, ‘Chhello Show’, ‘Katiabaz’ have made it to Tribika.

Shooting of film in Indore The film’s director Uttara Singh said that ‘Pinch’ was shot in Indore and its surrounding villages. The film is 83 minutes. The special thing is that the people of his village also participated in the film during the shooting. Uttara says, “When those people used to shoot in strong sunlight, I used to worry, but they used to say – you make your film, we are with you.” He further said that if his villagers had not been with him, then this film might not have been made.
What is the story of the film ‘Pinch’? The story of the film ‘Pinch’ is based on a travel blogger named ‘Maitri’, which is played by Uttara himself. One day on the occasion of Navratri, when she goes to the temple with her mother and women of the neighborhood, then something happens that she cannot even imagine. The film raises a sensitive issue like Assault.
Uttara says, “Assault is not just a matter of women or India. 68% of women from all over the world are victims of it. But it is not only about gender, but a question of power. It also affects men.” He told that he has shown this serious subject in the style of dark comedy.
