Veer Savarkar remembered on foreign soil
The cemetery has the tombs of Indian soldiers who sacrificed their lives in the first and second World War. PM went to the cemetery to pay tribute to these soldiers. In addition, on the last day of his tour, PM Modi also inaugurated the Indian Consulate in France. Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Paris on February 10.
PM Modi also recalled Veer Savarkar of the freedom army in Marseille. He wrote on his X account that this city is of special importance in search of India’s independence. In fact, Savarkar tried to flee the HMS Moria ship in Marsell on July 8, 1910. But they got out of the window and swimmed and reached the shore. He was arrested by French officials and the officers on the ship were re -handed.
