Members of an RCMP unit that help protect the Prime Minister and other public persons, faces the risk of burnout due to heavy work loads and limited resources, the newly released internal evaluation report said.
The report compiled by RCMP reviewers states that since its inception in 2020, the defensive behavioral analysis unit “faced numerous challenges” and the program implementation is “incomplete and inefficient”, the RCMP reviewers said.
The report is “not durable” in its current form and the RCMP unit must be considered in the “immediate and long term” command, format and workload related issues to help survive and nail, the report has concluded.
The unit provides operational support for RCMP’s protective services and uses behavioral expressions to evaluate the risk to prevent violence.
