Ahmedabad: Looking at one incident after another in the city, it seems that on the one hand the police is working hard to reduce the crime rate. On the other hand, the criminals are also carrying out the incidents as if they are challenging the police. In Shahpur, which is a busy traffic area, two persons broke into a shop and ran away after committing a robbery. The robber entered the shop in the guise of a shopkeeper and talked business with the shopkeeper. The robbers closed the shopkeeper’s shutters by asking him to show the goods of imitation jewellers. As soon as the shopkeeper closed the shutters, the robbers attacked him. The robbers attacked the shop with a soldering gun and later sprayed the shopkeeper in the face and looted Rs 5,000 in cash and a mobile phone. After committing the robbery, the robbers escaped.
54-year-old Paresh Patadia, who lives in Anandmay flat near Gandhini Pol in Shahpur area, has filed a robbery complaint against unknown persons in Shahpur police station. Paresh Patadia has been living in Shahpur area for 23 years and has been making a living by running a shop called Vrajpriya Imitation below his flat for a year. Paresh Patadia opens his shop around ten thirty in the morning and continues till eight at night.

Yesterday, Paresh Patadia was doing business by opening the shop as usual when two men came from business work around 2:30 in the afternoon. As soon as the two men arrived, they said to Paresh Patadia, “We have to give you work. I have to do the work as we say.” Paresh Patadia agreed with both of them and agreed to make goods for them. One of the two men told Paresh Patadia, “If you show us the goods, close the door of the shop so that no one sees.”
Believing the words of both the men, Paresh Patadia half closed the shutter of the shop. As soon as the shutter was closed, a man attacked Paresh Patadia. A man took a soldering gun lying in the shop and started hitting Paresh Patadia on the head. Paresh Patadia was bled to death when he was hit in the head with a soldering gun. In the meantime, a man took out the spray he had and sprayed it on Paresh Patadia’s face. As Paresh Patadia looked pale, the men continued to shoot him with guns.

The men threatened Paresh Patadia that “Give me whatever you have or I will kill you,” Paresh Patadia took out 5 thousand rupees from his bag and gave it. Both the men took five thousand rupees and robbed Paresh Patadia’s phone. After carrying out the robbery, the two men fled by raising the shutters while Paresh Patadia came out of the shop in a pool of blood. On seeing Paresh Patadia bleeding, the people of Aapsaap rushed and immediately informed his family. Paresh Patadia’s wife and son Harshit rushed to the hospital for treatment. On being informed about the incident, Shahpur police immediately rushed to the spot. The Shahpur police have registered a robbery complaint against two unidentified persons and launched an investigation, while operations have been launched to capture CCTV footage to nab them.
