South Africa whitewashed Pakistan 2-0 in the two-Test series at home. After winning the first match, South Africa won the second match to clinch the series. In this match, Ryan Rikalton scored a double century for South Africa, while captain Shan Masood scored a century for Pakistan. But Ryan’s century fell on Shaan. However, after the match, Shan raised questions about his dismissal. Shan was dismissed LBW in the second innings but was upset with the umpire’s decision and also questioned the technology.

Shan Masood alleged

Shane had a brilliant performance in the second innings against South Africa. After scoring a century, he was dismissed on a personal score of 145 runs. He was hunted down by 18-year-old fast bowler Kwena Mafaka. One of his balls hit Shaan’s pad. South Africa appealed on this but the field umpire gave not out. After this South Africa took DRS. Then the TV umpire gave Shaan out.

On being out LBW, Shan said, ‘It was clear and felt that the ball was outside the stumps. The ball didn’t hit where Hawk Eye (technology) was showing it to hit. The ball hit me more on the outside of my foot than the inside. In his defense, the Pakistani captain further said that the on-field umpire also thought the same and did not give out. It wasn’t even an inswinger ball. That’s all I can say.

Match status

Batting first, South Africa scored 615 runs with the help of captain Temba Bavuma (106 runs), Kyle Verne (100 runs) and 259 runs from Ryan Rickleton. In reply, Pakistan’s first innings ended in 194 runs. South Africa gave the follow-on to Pakistan. Pakistan scored 478 in the second innings and South Africa were given a target of 58 runs to win, which they achieved on the first ball of the eighth over.
