Team India announced for the World Cup, these players got places

The Kho-Kho Federation of India (KKFI) and the International Kho-Kho Federation (IKKF) have announced the Indian men’s and women’s teams for the upcoming Kho-Kho World Cup 2025. The Kho-Kho World Cup will be held from January 13 to 19 at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in New Delhi.

20 men’s teams and 19 women’s teams are participating in the first edition of the event. 23 countries are coming to India to participate in this tournament.

Prateek Vaikar became the captain of the men’s team

The men’s team will be led by Prateek Vyakar. He made his debut for India in 2016. He started playing kho-kho at the age of eight. He has led the Telugu Warriors in the Kho-Kho League. Also under his captaincy, Maharashtra won the gold medal in the 56th Senior National Championship.

Priyanka Ingle became the captain of the women’s team

Priyanka Ingle has got the captaincy of the women’s team. She has been a key part of the team, participating in 23 national competitions in 15 years. Her achievements include the Ella Award (Best Sub-Junior Player), Rani Lakshmi Bai Award (2022 Senior Nationals) and a gold medal at the 4th Asian Kho-Kho Championship 2022-23.

A selection committee headed by KKFI president Sudhanshu Mittal and general secretary MS Tyagi played a key role in selecting the final 15 players for the men’s and women’s teams. The training camp consisted of 60 male and 60 female players along with the coaching staff.

Women’s Team: Priyanka Ingle (Captain), Ashwini Shinde, Reshma Rathore, Bhillar Devjibhai, Nirmala Bhati, Neeta Devi, Chaitra R., Shubashree Singh, Magai Mazi, Anshu Kumari, Vaishnavi Bajrang, Nasreen Sheikh, Meenu, Monika, Nazia Bibi.
