The finale of Miss World took place on 31 May at the Hightex Exhibition Center in Hyderabad.
21 -year -old Opal Suchta Chuangashree of Thailand has won the title of Miss World 2025. The match between the contestants of 108 countries took place at the Hytex Exhibition Center in Hyderabad. India’s Nandini Gupta managed to reach the top-20 with excellent performance. She could not make a place in the top-8. However, in Miss World 2025, Nandini Gupta has achieved the title of the top model.
Miss World 2024 Christina Pisjkova wore her crown to Opal Suchata. Miss World Runner-up was Ethiopia’s Haset Derase. At the same time, second runner-up was Maja Klajda of Poland and Oreli Jochim of Martinic.

Sonu Sood gets Miss World Humanitarian Award
Bollywood actor Sonu Sood has been awarded the Miss World Humanitarian Award this year for her social works. Former Miss World and Bollywood actress Manushi Chillar, South Superstar Chiranjeevi and Vijay Devarakonda were part of the finale. Ishaan Khattar and Jacqueline Fernandes also gave excellent performance in Finale. Sonu Sood was also included in Miss World Jury members this year. Beauty was not a bikini contest, the first Miss World was
In 1951, England’s TV host Eric Morley organized a bikini contest to promote bikini at the Festival of Britain Celebration. Its purpose was to increase the crowd. It was the only contest of its kind, in which 30 models from many countries were going to walk the ramp in bikini. Foreign media named it Miss World. Its first winner was Sweden’s Karsene Margerita aka Kiki. She wore a bikini during crowning.
The first Miss World Ceremony (Bikini Contest) was in London. After this, this ceremony continued in London for 38 years.
As soon as this contest broadcast on television, the then Pope of that time criticized it fiercely. He considered it against religion and society. Many countries also refused to send their contestants. This bikini contest made headlines due to controversies.
Due to popularity, Eric Morley registered this contest with Miss World name and made it an annual competition.
In order to avoid controversies, in Miss World 1952, contestants were dressed in the place of bikini.

1970- Bomb thrown on stage during finale
On 20 November 1970, Miss World was being fined at the Royal Albert Hall in London, when suddenly 60 feminist Protestors reached there and started throwing flour bombs on the stage. The hosts of the show were nervous and the ceremony was stopped. She was angry with the women’s exhibition at the contest. Earlier, BBC’s broadcast van parked outside the hall was attacked by the British Terrorist Group before the ceremony started. Luckily there was no harm in both the blasts.
The ceremony was stopped for some time from the bomb blasts, although the ceremony was resumed after the situation was controlled.
1970- Black Woman became Miss World and protests
In 1970 itself, Miss Granada Jennifer Hoston of the Caribbean country Granada became the first black woman to win the Miss World. After the winner announced, people started opposing Miss World. Broadcast partner BBC also received several letters, opposing the result.
Later it was also revealed that Sir Eric Gary, Prime Minister of Granada was included in the jury. Miss Sweden got the highest number of votes, although Jennifer Hoston was won under pressure from the Prime Minister of Granada.
Apart from Jennifer Hoston, so far, 4 Black Woman has won the Miss World title.
1973- Miss World title was snatched when an affair came out
Marjori was the first US Contestant to win the Miss World title in 1973. However, after many of her affair and kissing photos surfaced, the title of Miss World was taken away from her 104 days after Crowning.

1980- Nude photoshoot got Miss World returned to Crown

2000- Finale was kept in Nigeria and many countries left contest
Miss World 2000 was scheduled to take place in Nigeria, but contestants from many European countries boycotted the pageant. Religious riots started in Kaduna city of Nigeria before the ceremony began, in which 200 people were killed. The ceremony finally took place in London. Due to changing the country, those contestants also joined it, who left the pageant.
2020- Miss World 2020 was canceled due to Corona.
2021- 23 contestants were made on the day of finale, covid positive
Miss World 2021 was scheduled to take place on 16 December 2021 at Puerto Rico. Just a day before the ceremony, 17 contestants and technicians became covid positive. They were quarrantin and stopped from coming to the finale. On the day of Ceremony, 23 contestants were found to be covid positive, after which Miss World 2021 was posted. This was followed by Miss World 2021 in 2022 next year.
Miss England accused organizers before finale, left contest
2025- Miss World 2025 is being held in Hyderabad, India. However, a few days before the finale, Miss England Mila Maggi left the pageant saying that the organizers were pressurizing her to entertain the financers. He said that he was made to feel like a prostitute in the pageant.
Mila Maggi Miss England is the first plus size model to win.
Priyanka Chopra’s victory was controversial, allegations- discriminated and given the title
Priyanka Chopra won the Miss World title in the year 2000 by backing down the contestants of 108 countries. 22 years after her victory, Miss Barbados Lilani McCane, who was co-contestant, alleged that Miss World was 2000 fix and Priyanka was given special treatment.
