There was a powerful earthquake of magnitude 7.1 near Tonga, which warned the tsunami for the Pacific Island nation. The US Geological Survey said that according to local time, about 100 km (62 miles) of the main island on Monday morning occurred in the northeast.
Heavy tsunami warning
The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center issued a warning that dangerous waves could collide along the coast within 300 km (185 miles) of the earthquake, although no immediate reports of damage. Tonga is a country located in Polinesia, made up of 171 islands, with only more than 100,000, most of which live on the main island of Tongatapu more than 3,500 km (2,000 miles) on the east coast of Australia.
