Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will appoint a final group of senators to fill the vacancies in the upper chamber before resigning, his office confirmed Global News on Monday.

Parliament is currently ahead till March 24, when Libers selects a new leader to make Trudeau a success, namely the Senate and House CommMs are not sitting and the MLA is hanging out. It does not stop the appointment of new senators, and the Prime Minister’s Office says the selection process is underway.

The PMO said in a statement that the prognosis of Parliament did not affect the ability to appoint persons in the Senate on the advice of the Governor General’s Prime Minister.
