President Donald Trump is now talking to Russian President Vladimir Putin about ending war in Ukraine, the White House said.
White House spokesman Dan Scavino at 10:54 am, ET said, “Call L, which began at 10am at ET,” is running well, and still in progress. Trump said last night that “many elements of the final contract have agreed, but much left.”
Trump wrote on his truth social account, “Thousands of young soldiers and others are being killed. 2,500 soldiers die from both sides every week, and now they come to an end. I look forward to Call Leaf with President Putin,” Trump wrote on his truth social account.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Tuesday that the two leaders would talk about war in Ukraine but there are “a large number of questions” about normalizing US-Russia relations, according to the Associated Press.

State Department spokesman Tammy Bruce said on Monday that the “ball is now in Russia’s court” to accept a US-response ceasefire deal, which Ukraine agreed last week.
The US-backed proposal, in which the immediate 30-day ceasefire and Ukraine were guaranteed US military assistance and intelligence, the final was finalized during diplomatic negotiations in Saudi Arabia last week.
Bruce said during the briefing of the State Department, that Ukraine has to implement the Russia-Ukraine conflict immediately intermediate 30-day ceasefire. Expressed his readiness to accept the proposal. The ball is now in Russia’s court.

The last time Trump and Putin spoke in the middle of February.
Trump said at the time, “I just had a long and very productive phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin. We discussed Ukraine, the Middle East, Energy, the power of the artificial intelligence, the Dollar Lir and various other subjects.”
“We both reflected on the great history of our nations and the fact that successfully fought in World War II, remembering that Russia lost millions of people, and so on, so many lost!” Trump continued.

He said, “We talked about the power of our respective countries and the great benefit we will work together. But first, we both agreed, we want to stop millions of deaths in war with Russia/Ukraine.”
