Ahmedabad: The tariffs imposed by US President Donald Trump are going to have a profound impact on industries from Gujarat from Gujarat. The US has imposed 27 per cent tariffs on the export of 3500 crore textiles from Gujarat, which has led to concerns among the textile industry traders. While Trump’s tariff bomb will sink Gujarat’s textile industry or a meeting is set to meet, the decision of this tariff will be two months of recession, but the traders are expressing optimism that there will be bright opportunities for the textile industry.
Tariffs will be affected by one or the other in the export of 80 thousand crores in the United States by the industries of Gujarat. Except for petroleum and pharma products, 27 per cent tariffs have been imposed on most products, especially in Gujarat’s textile traders trading 3500 crores with the United States.
The downturn in the textile market
Gaurang Bhagat, President of New Cloth Market in Ahmedabad, says that more tariffs have been imposed in countries around us than us. Currently there will be 10 per cent of duty delivery from five to nine and then the containers will come on hold. Then the delivery will remain on hold until the next decision is made. India’s tariff percentage is less than China, so the downturn will be certain for two months, but in the future our textile industry will benefit. In the United States, brand goods like Cotton Yan, Ru, Cotton Trousers, Shirting, Denim, Surat Synthetic Cloth, Zara are also going to the United States. Gujarat’s textile industry first had 10 percent tariff in trade with the United States, which is now 27 percent. But there are still constant negotiations with the United States. Tariff rates of Pakistan, Vietnam, China and Bangladesh are higher than India. It is necessary to wait until the first month two months are finalized. We are seeing India in the long run. Currently there is a two -month recession, but it is going to benefit in the future as the clients are slowly turning to India.
It is important that the tariff bombs lit by the United States at different countries have reverted to concerns among traders of different industries. The impact of the US decision is also being seen on the stock markets, with Gujarat’s textile traders also raised clouds of concern over trade with the United States, as well as hopes to accelerate the trade in the future.
