The federal elections will be held on April 28 and candidates across the country, including Lathbridge, are in full campaign.
Five candidates have so far identified themselves in Southern Alberta City, which introduces Canada’s Conservative Party, Libers, NDP, Green Party and People’s Party Canada.
Rupe Serv Chitos: Rachel Thomas
Three-time Rup’s Chutt Current current Rachel Thomas (NEEE Hard) on Tuesday evening began his re-election campaign against supporters at the headquarters of the campaign, and announced his party as a “Canada-first” choice.
“Our priority as conservatives is to establish the re -restore that can be restored for Canadians, it is to restore our economy, to ensure that people are able to live a living in this beautiful country.”
Thomas says that the Liberal government, led by the current Mark Carne, is masked as a new appearance centrist party, but it is the same group that has called shots in Canada since 2015.
Thomas said, “Carn is a new leader, but the party is the same. His cabinet is 87 pm unchanged. Therefore, he brought the same people to the table, the same people who have broken our economy.”
She says her record of parliament as a member is worth pointing to voters.
“I think as a Rs con -chuted candidate in this area, I have a strong record of advocating this community.
“I want to be a good listener and I want to be a strong representative in the capital of our nation.”
“I’ve put my Best foot to do that, even if he hosts multiple town halls every year or takes one after another or goes to businesses and met people, host roundtables, respond to emails or phone Calls Ls, I try to make people available as possible.”
Thomas says that Lathbridge voters have trusted him with every passing election and hoped that nothing will change in April.
“I have the pleasure of getting faith three times now and, of course, I hope I get that opportunity once again.”
Liberals: Chris Spearman
Meanwhile, former Lathbridge Mayor Chris Spearman is running for liberals despite not living in the city. He says that if elected he plans to take a centrist-privileged attitude.
“We know that this city has a big Rs SERV constituency. We know that there is a solid group of about 40 percent that is worth Rs SERV, so we have cut our job for us.”

“We will basically have to reach those people who have traditionally voted for Rup SERV Chit and saying that we can offer you the same things that you are hoping.”
For Spearman, he really comes down to remove the distance between the left and the right.
“We can not only succeed in appealing to liberal support alone,” Spearman said.
He says that even if he is elected, the full time will not go back to the lathbridge, but will make himself available to the components on a regular basis.
“I’m just let and hours away, I live in the mountains – the Lathbridge is a city for where I live … I think if you ask people, when I was a mayor for eight years, I was very involved in the community.”
When it comes to his record as a mayor, Spearman says he does not want to revive himself in the campaign and that he is the same person who has known people from his tenure from the leading Lathbridge.
“I have shown that I can be fisherly sensible. I will take that TT Tova and make sure we challenge the government and the cabinet ministers and the Prime Minister to make sure the taxpayers are receiving the value of the dollars.”
Thomas and Spearman have a comprehensive political experience, while the other three candidates are all out in the world of politics.
Green Party: Amber Murray
The Green Party is placing Amber Murray on the ballet. She went to Lathbridge in 2023 and says that the latest concerns about coalization in the Eastern OPAs are the primary reasons that she has participated in the Office Fissure.
“In 2021 I wrote a letter about Elizabeth May (coal mining) and I didn’t know who to talk to and we had no MPs in the West – either progressive or environmental MPs – that we can speak,” She personally wrote me and said, “Here we will have a petition here.” “
Murray says that coming as a political external person is not a disadvantage, but in some ways.
“I’m not sure that the very political experience for political representation is the Best thing.”
She says she respects her by compete-in-spearmen-but she thinks that the Green Party is still a better choice for the leftist voters, or some right on the right.
“I believe I am a better choice for opposition votes than liberals. I am a better choice if I am worried about water, for those who voted for Rup SERV Chitr, generally than PPC.”
Of course, this means that Murray acknowledges that he is unlikely to win a seat in Parliament, though she says victory for her will send a message to other parties that the lathbridge residents are open to change.
“Getting a community of environmental concerns here, getting an electrical association to go here for greens, what we can do as a green party, and what someone like Elizabeth has done,” said Murray, “said Murray.
At first, Murray emphasized his hope that the campaign would be clean and citizen for all candidates.
NDP: Nathan Swaboda
Representing the New Democratic Party, Nathan Swoboda, a paramedic with re-recovery attainment Alberta, hopes to earn the pace of the NDP after the victory of a provincial subsidiary in the Lathbridge-West before Christmas.
“Although our field is more intense, we see that the NDP is advocating and fighting for us, despite anything there, and that is what you want.”
The 2021 NDP candidate finished in second place from Thomas, but the first -time candidate Swoboda feels that the time to close the distance and move forward is appropriate.
“When it comes to our opportunities to be able to win, I think. It all depends on the Lathbridge people.
“We have a diverse community in Lathbridge, but I believe we have united in our shared values.”
He says that moving for a seat is not a choice for itself, but the choice of everyone’s future in Lathbridge.
“In the future we do not wait, it is something we have to fight. This candidacy is not mine, it is everyone from Lathbridge that we imagine is willing to stay and fight for the future.”
PPC: Clara
There is a Clara Pidlue on the ballet at the People’s Party of Canada, which is self -employed.
“I decided to take a plunge, step in the ring,” Pidlu said. “It is true that I have no political experience, but I think what makes me deserve is that I am a regular human, a mom, a business owner who has been in Lathbridge for 17 years.
“I have some really strong relationships with the community.”
He says his party is the Best choice for people with right -wing values.
“I believe in independent freedom and personal responsibility. Those two concepts go hand in hand and I think many people in Lathbridge will agree that you should be responsible for the choices you make.”
Despite the end of the fourth place for the Lathbridge PPC candidate in 2021, Pidlue says the latest Federal Party could succeed this year’s Ottawa waves.
“My goal is to bring the message of the PPC party for the Lathbridge people. If I am successful in winning the election, we will have a great celebration, but if that is not the case, it is ok because I believe in the principles and guilty of the PPC party.”
An all-ritual forum will be held on April 8, hosted by the Lathbridge Chamber Commerce for Commerce. This will be the opportunity to meet the candidates for residents before hitting the voting at the end of the month.
