BCCI has now come into action mode after the death of 11 people in a rush near Chinnaswamy Stadium. The board is considering a formal guide to control such events in the future following the terrible accident during the IPL victory of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).
BCCI Secretary acknowledged this
BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia said, “League will now actively consider determining the standards for the future titles.” At some point BCCI has to do something. We cannot be a silent audience. However, the RCB celebration was privately organized. But the BCCI secretary admitted that the results of the incident could not be separated from the large ecosystem of the game.
Attempt not to happen again in the future: BCCI
“It was a private issue of RCB, but in the BCCI we are responsible for cricket in India and we will try to make sure that such incidents do not happen in the future,” he said. Following the incident, responsibility and reforms are being demanded. The Karnataka government has already taken action against police and organizing officers. Concerns are raising concerns in the cricket world on the purpose of crowd control and the purpose of such mass programs.
Gautam Gambhir said this at Chinnaswamy Stadium
The day after the incident, India’s chief coach Gautam Gambhir also openly opposed the celebration. “I think people’s lives are more important and I will continue to say this,” Gambhir said. We can take a little care not to do such a road show and maybe do something like this in the back door or at the stadium.
